About
Save Money Magazine is all about saving you money every day.
Drawn from my experiences of long years on a budget, I have compiled all my money saving tips and solutions to help you save money.
My married life started on a pretty stressful note. A week before our wedding my soon to be husband was laid off work. Than our car was involved in an accident by one of the groomsmen on the day of the wedding.
That was just the start. From then on we went through the usual expenses of setting up a new household and all the things going along with that. It was here that I discovered the power of negotiating and bargaining to get the best deals on everything from computers to crockery.
Everything can be negotiated on and there are bargains to be found everywhere. You just have to know where to look and how top get it.
I will share all my bargain hunting tips with you.
A few years later our business went bust due to an associate embezzling a huge amount of money from us. This left us in an enormous amount of debt and we lost all our earthly possessions and our home.
We became homeless.
We ended up in a caravan at a friend’s backyard, who kindly put us up for a while.
So we started rebuilding our lives once again starting from bellow zero, as we were determined not to go bankrupt but rather pay back our debts.
So once again my frugality and bargain hunting abilities came to the fore as we had to make do on very little money even though we were working just about seven days a week. It’s at times like this that you are forced to become very resourceful and imaginative in the ways of making money and stretching your dollar to the max.
The result: My husband and I run several successful online businesses, we live on the beautiful Queensland Gold Coast and travel extensively always on bargain deals, of course.
The fact is: Most people pay way too much money for things without realising that they can get the same things at much cheaper prices. This is why most people are always in debt and continually playing catch-up. This is a vicious never ending cycle that is hard to break. It is also very demoralising and energy sapping. I know, I was there on more than one occasion!
You don’t have to live that way; there are ways to break out of the cycle and create for yourself a freer, happier and stress free life.
WARNING: Bargain hunting and bargaining for things can become addictive.
I am at a stage in my life when I almost refuse to pay full price for anything. I must really, really want something for me to pay the asking price. And it becomes a hugely exciting game. My girl friend and I regularly get together and compare who got the best bargains and where. It is through this input and from sharing with one another that we can all learn to be frugal and get the best bargains for our money.
I hope you will enjoy the information you find in this blog and share it with all your friends.
Happy Savings and Bargain Hunting
