Simplify Your Beauty Routine and Save
Simplify Your Beauty Routine and Save
Beauty doesn’t have to be expensive.
Just ask your grandmother. Mine had the most amazing skin without spending a cent on store bought skin care products. All she had was a powder compact that she never used. How did the women of old look after their skin? Simply by using basic, available ingredients and making their own products. It’s easier than you think.
Get back to basics
Do you really need a draw-full of cosmetics products or can you simplify. Choose products that will multitask, such as a tinted moisturiser. A lipstick that doubles as a cream blush and a bronzer that doubles as a powder blush.
When you consider your budget, here are the things you can splurge on and save on. Invest in a good moisturiser, a quality foundation, maybe a mineral makeup. Also invest in a good mascara. Nothing’s worse than ending up with panda eyes due to a cheap mascara.
Save on lipstick, lip glosses, eye shadows and eye liners. All eye liners are made in the same factory so they are all the same. Cleansers and eye makeup removers don’t have to be expensive and eye creams a waste of money so just use your moisturising lotion all over the face.
As far as skin care products go, again you don’t need a huge amount of products.
Moisturiser, sunscreen and a face scrub are all the basics you need. If you have extra money than you can splurge on extras otherwise you can make do with just these three.
DIY beauty products
The fridge is a literal beauty counter if you know how to use the contents. While cucumber slices on your eyes and
vinegar rinse in your hair might seem old-fashioned, the truth is that homemade beauty potions work wonders for your skin and are inexpensive.
The secret with home made beauty treatments is to use them straight away! You don’t need anything too fancy, your everyday fruits and vegetables will do just fine. My grandmother regularly applied slightly whipped egg whites as a mask. Use a pastry brush (A clean one kept for this purpose only) and brush on the skin. Leave for around 10 minutes or until dry. You will feel it tighten on your skin, and then gently rinse off.
Another fantastic mask is sour cream. Again apply to face and allow to dry. The milk acids work to exfoliate the skin so you will feel baby smooth.
For a gentle exfoliator mix two tablespoons of almond meal with one tablespoon of honey.
For a moisturiser use oils. Sweet almond oil or jojoba oil is very inexpensive then add a few drops of your favourite essential oils. This is not only for the fragrance but the health benefits too.
Use these few tips to not only save yourself a lot of money but have glowing kin too!
Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your thoughts? I mean, what you say is important and everything. But its got no punch, no pop! Maybe if you added a pic or two, a video? You could have such a more powerful blog if you let people SEE what youre talking about instead of just reading it.
